FAQ
Created with Raphaël 2.2.0
  • What makes this wireframe kit different?

We built the wild Wireframe Kit specifically with our own needs in mind. This means it had to focus on being as modular as possible, and oriented around low-level components to maximize variability and flexibility, while being as smooth and efficient to work with as possible.

A fixed style guide streamlines thinking while using the kit, and minimizes distractions. Aesthetic elements, such as colors, can take your attention away from what matters most when building a kit – so we use effective and handsome defaults to help focus your attention elsewhere.

The Anima layout plug-in speeds up the process even further, making components contextually sensitive, and thus more responsive to content changes. So manually resizing elements individually is a thing of the past!

Basically, this Wireframe Kit is awesome.
  • Do I need an external plugin?

Yup! The Anima Sketch Plugin is required – it speeds up the process by making components more responsive. So it’s def worth it.
  • How much do I need to pay?

Zero! Zip! Zilch! Nada! We’re giving this one away for free! Here at wild we believe in sharing everything we learn. You could share this in a tweet, or at the very least drink a 🍺 on us.
And if you really like it and can’t live without it anymore, then feel free to leave us a tip. For purchases over 20$ you also get a beautiful sticker sheet!
  • How often are the updates?

We’re aiming to do some updates at least every few months – but it’s still very new, and we want your feedback! The more feedback we get, the more often we can update the kit to your liking.
  • How compatible is it?

As it currently stands, the kit works best from Sketch version 52. Use at your own risk, though! We aren’t responsible for any strange bugs or lost work.
  • How does this kit improve workflow?

In short, that’s all it does. By limiting options to what matters most, keeping to an 8pt grid, using Anima’s amazing plugin to make components smart and context-sensitive, by providing a set of nested symbols – this set does everything to make building require less work. It leaves you and your brain with more capacity to think about the stuff that matters.
  • How do I set up wild’s Wireframe Kit?

    • Download the kit.
    • Move both Sketch files – the library and template file – to a nice little, secure folder on your computer.
    • Open up Sketch, go to File > Preferences and click on Library.
    • Click Add Library and locate the library file in that nice little, secure folder.
Now you can import all symbols, colors, text and layer styles from the library into any file you want. If you prefer video tutorials you should be fine with those two:

Tutorial 1 – Install the Library
Tutorial 2 – Add the Template File
  • What’s the template file for?

The template file consists of a few screen examples and a complete list of current components from the library. You can simply drag & drop or copy these into the screen size examples to start a new project.

If you wanna open the file via File > New from Template:
    • Locate and open the template file
    • Click File > Save as a Template

    Video:
Tutorial 2 – Add the Template File

    Et voilá!
  • Can I use the kit in my commercial projects?

Hell yeah! This kit is completely free to use in any kind of project you want (so long as you don't distribute or sell the kit itself that is). Feel free to use our kit when building your next business homepage, online store, or startup app – and drop us a line! We're keen to see what it (and you) can do.

We’ve used our Wireframe Kit working with clients such as Instagram, Spotify or Expensify. Do you need help with your project? Contact us!
